Access Control System

An access control system (ACS) is a security system that limits who can access a certain area or resource. It uses a variety of
verification methods to grant or deny access, such as:
Personal identification numbers (PINs), Cards, Tokens, Fingerprints, Iris recognition, Facial recognition, and Smartphones.
ACS can be physical or logical:

  • Physical: Controls who can enter a building or area using locked doors, gates, and other barriers.
  • Logical: Controls access to networks, files, or data in a computer system.

ACS can help with work time logging and can be integrated with other systems, such as accounting, personnel management, video
surveillance, security, and fire alarm systems.
ACS can range in size and complexity, from a single door keypad to a network of thousands of doors and sensors. The system
administrator can remotely adjust access settings, and lost tags can be permanently disabled.
